Delegate and Distroy Not

It is easier to destroy or to tear down. Building up is always difficult. It needs vision, foresight, patience, love and every ingrediant of the fruit of the Spirit. Over the last 22 years I could see several people who build up people and much more who do not build up rather tear down. There are very few examples around us always for those who delegate, and couch people. I am talking about the Chrystendom not the corporate world or sports. Generally speaking, I have found only two species of living beings who really will be happy to see their next generation coming up in life or will not envy on their growth and performance; Parents and Teachers! Think of all others in leadership. Many of them whom I have seen (I come from a small village and only have traveled to only some towns and cities of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and a little bit of Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Himachal, Haryana and Mizoram) would like to stay on power and hold on and have a peaceful death. "Let whatever happen to the organization/ church, as long as I live, I will not permit..." is the kind of attitude they seem to have. I have met people who were in National level leadership for 25 or 30 years and after their retirement, they have wonderful ideas of networking and building up the whole nation! Some of such initiaties are proven to be another project to rehabilitate to have peace until they die. Some how they are effective in fooling the "world and several foundations" Do we have a model to follow, in building? Yes, we do have enough. This is what St. Paul is talking about in the illustration of the Body- one body many parts. Entrust, build up, encourage, motivate, consider others... are some interesting topics he got for his fellowmen and to the Church. (No references here since we all know it well). Even Moses had to listen to his father-in-law to learn the principles of Delegation which is the first historic reference for 'delegation'of any kind in any literature including Management Studies. Management writer Donald Koontz (spelling?) refers to this Biblical account in his volume on Essentials of Management.

Do we have models in the Bible for tearing down ?
Yes we do have plenty. Look at the wisest of the wise who everlived on the face of the earth, King Slolomon. He wanted to build his own kingdom and take all glory to himself at the cost of the people under his keep. It is this attitude which brought the division of the kingdom and the world witnessed its consequences till today. The Lord used to speak this out to the leaders of Israel. How can any Christian leader today ignore studying Ezekkiel 34 which rebukes the shepherd who feed on the sheep?

Feeding on the Sheep... Creative thinkings, international consultations and brainstormings by many leaders are hosted in the most luxurious hotels to discuss on poverty and ministry in the slums. They denounce ministry among the tribals and slum dwellers and talk about reaching the elites and highcasts. They want to bring transformations by Blessing India with in the year 2020, thriving to do for the whole nation what they could not do for two or three decades in their own organizations or for people under their charge before they retired. Are we any way different from the party polititians as alleged to be? Forgive me for substantiating the point from real life cases. At least some leaders who head ministries in the worst slums in India get their children trained in the West for a better ministry to the urban poor and business executives in India. Simple humble leaders who glory that they don't own anything or do not get a salary or sign a cheque, holds thousands of acres of real estate in all state in India including hill stations. A leader who is not willing to give a pune's / sweeper's salary(the least salary in public service) to a missionary couple are willing to speak every day on TV spending Rs.50,000 and more per program! Some say all Indians are urbanized and all the youth are in the IT companies, denouncing village ministries and are busy with international consultations on tent-making and 'business as missions'. Most of them are in tent-making only and consider 'mission as busines'. The hightechs are forgetting the fact that there is no alternative for interpersonal ministry and that majority of the ethnic or linguist groups who have not yet heard the gospel even once are on the hills or interior villages of India. They dont' realize, only 10-15% ( no recnet scientific research data available yet) of the Indian population consume 90% of the media producuts. Come along with me to Chennai, one of the great cities in India, I will show you thousands of people in the inner city who do not have a TVset, a moble phone, an ATM card, a bank account, a gas connection, a ration card or even an address for themselves. Then imagine the status of millions out there. "My people are scattered and dispersed on every mountains " says the Lord.

Greedy for money and Power
Who does not want it today. Some chose to stay back. Real life stories tell us, leaders are prone to this temptations though we have some exceptions. A Bishop asks an Indian leader of an organization in America to invite him too for a consultation so that he can make one more visit to a foreign land. The same organization's Leader in India goes for shopping with family to Thailand/ Singapore and Indonasia just for the wedding dress and ornaments. What are our moral and ethical values, if not any spiritual ? Whom are we discipling and reaching? We also have bishops who will not even buy a sandal even if it got torn during the visit abroad. Do we have models today to follow? There are networks among some leaders in India; they take turns in attending overseas consultations. The become only god fathers to a few to see their interests are protected even in old age. We also have encouraging stories of some passing on the baton while alive not despite a son or a son-in-law.

Serious Swindling
Recently a ministry- a society- was closed down and new business company was formed by the leader in some part of the world, to send out most of its executive board members (90%) including the vice president, secretary and other key members who came to know about the mega swindling which had been going for years. The internationally, respected organization's international leaders closed their eyelids tight when this third world country leader and his wife owned a dozen bank accounts in a single bank alone in one particular city of the country alone. Only God knows, (probably not even the devil) how big is the mountain of this iceburg underwater! (people who have seen it and touched it are still living and you can catch the proof from the air if you have swirl the right net). Ananias and Sapphira will certainly fail the test before the modern day Ananias and Spphira mega million times. (Forgive they only hid a bit of their own wealth and did not amass the wealth from around the world!) It's surprising, what translation and what book do they meditate and work on. Bible tells us and shows us that such wicked will grow only worse and may not even repent. (Lord forgive me and only you can lead them out of this horror and they themselves will never). So what we are saying brethren ? Let us trust our fellowmen, entrust, delegate, build up and be transparent so that we will continue to build the body of Christ and the Kingdom of God on this earth and will not fall flat before the demon.
